Terms of Service
Effective date: February 19, 2026. Version: 2026-02-19.
1. Acceptance and Eligibility
By creating an account, accessing, or using Project Scriptura, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You represent that you are legally able to enter into this agreement and that your use complies with all applicable laws. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the service only with appropriate parent or legal guardian permission.
2. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for account credentials, all activity under your account, and keeping account information accurate and current.
You must promptly notify us through the Contact page if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization.
3. User Content and License
You may submit content, including comments, votes, profile fields, and Bible Study collections. You retain ownership of your content.
By submitting content, you grant Project Scriptura and its operators an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, distribute, publish, display, perform, adapt, modify, create derivative works from, analyze, and otherwise use your content for any lawful purpose, including moderation, safety, legal compliance, analytics, product improvement, operations, and promotion, without compensation to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you also assign to Project Scriptura any rights needed to exercise this license fully. Where assignment is not legally effective, you grant the broadest enforceable license possible.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to post unlawful, threatening, hateful, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, or malicious content, and not to interfere with service operations, security, reliability, or other users.
You must not attempt unauthorized access, abuse APIs or infrastructure, scrape at harmful scale, or use automated means in ways that degrade service integrity.
5. Moderation and Enforcement
We may monitor, review, remove, restrict, or disable content, features, and accounts at any time, with or without notice, for policy, integrity, safety, legal, or operational reasons.
We may suspend or permanently ban users, remove comments, and limit access to tools such as Bible Study export where necessary.
6. Public Content and Export Tools
Your username and posted content may be visible to other users depending on platform settings and profile privacy options.
If you export content from Bible Study tools (including PDF and email drafts), you are solely responsible for how that export is shared and used.
7. Copyright and Takedown
If you believe content on Project Scriptura infringes your copyright, contact us through the Contact page with sufficient detail to identify the work and the allegedly infringing material. We may remove or restrict access while reviewing claims.
8. Service Availability and Changes
The service may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee continuous availability, feature continuity, or data retention for any specific period.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Project Scriptura and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of the service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Project Scriptura and its operators from claims, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by applicable law in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that exclusive venue for disputes will be in courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms.
14. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and all remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms, together with referenced policies, form the entire agreement between you and Project Scriptura regarding service use.
